Let’s Talk

Let’s Talk

The definition of conversation is the sharing of thoughts and ideas, which by itself provides a formidable tool for self development, next to reading. The most important conversations to shape your future for success are the ones you have with yourself. Talking with your inner self creates data that improves your mindsettings for success, creating your own concept of who you are and what you want. Talk to yourself, planting seeds of positivity, optimism and growth.

Be effective when you talk to yourself, using words and concepts, through thoughts and a loud voice. Also, add tone of voice, emotions and body language. Finally, when talking to yourself, don’t be passive, aggressive, or passive-aggressive. Be assertive in expressing ideas and feelings, while also considering your own needs.

Starting Is The Key To Success

Starting Is The Key To Success

Fear of taking risks is what may be preventing you from succeeding. You may prefer to stay in your comfort zone where you are in control of your environment, experiencing low levels of anxiety and stress. The issue is that in your comfort zone, nothing will change. To experience change, you need to overcome your fear of the potential risks of starting new activities.

To grow you must go out of your comfort zone, even if it makes you feel insecure and uncomfortable. Taking risks is scary, but a growth mindset requires accepting uncertainty. The way to overcome these negative thoughts is to understand the risks but focus on the positive side of what you will achieve.

Think about the regret you will feel in the future when you ask yourself: “What if?” “What would have happened if?” Even if you fail, you'll walk away with more experience and more knowledge, which will lead you to success in other areas and definitely, you will be more satisfied with your life, because you did it.

To stop future regrets, do it now.

Feedback Yourself

Feedback Yourself

This is how Seneca described his night routine: “I make use of this opportunity, daily pleading my case at my own court. When the light has gone out, I examine my entire day, going through what I have done and said. I conceal nothing from myself, I do not overlook anything. I have nothing to fear from my errors, when I can say: See that you don't do this anymore. For the moment, I excuse you.”

This evening routine is crucial if you want to be your best self. At the end of each day, sit down and review: What did you do today? What did you do well? What you didn't do so well? How could you improve? Do a personal self-assessment every night. If you want to set your mind to growth, you must ask yourself every night questions, such as: What bad habit have I overcome today? What good habit have I acquired today? How have I improved today? This will adjust your Mind settings to growth.

Finally, Self-Feedback is an opportunity to be open and transparent with yourself, about who you are. This transparency will be perceived by others and will make you socially attractive, because people aren’t attracted to the perfection that inspires skepticism. They are attracted to the transparency they can trust.

Have a positive self-talk,
with an honest self-feedback.

Me First

Me First

When you do the right thing you are an example to others. When you love yourself you will be able to love your neighbor. When you learn you can teach. When you grow, you can help others to grow. When you become stronger you can strengthen those around you. When you are healthy you can help others to be healthier. When you are richer you can support others. Investing in yourself is not selfish, it’s God’s Plan.

Be the first so that you can help others to get there. Be the example to follow by taking care of yourself, so that you can take care of others. Investing in yourself allows you to invest in others, to make this a better world. You can give when you have. You need to have knowledge, resources, time, abilities, capabilities and above all, the right Mindsetting, to be able to lead others to a better place in life.

Investing in yourself means changing your Mindsetting to Grow, and for that: Set goals, study, grow your skills, strengthen your finances and health, persevere to acquire good habits and cut ties with your past. This is the way for you to increase your value, because you are worth your own time and efforts.

Lead by example and service.

Do You Live Vicariously?

Do You Live Vicariously?

Vicariously living is experiencing life indirectly, like when the adventure someone tells you, feels like your own. Vicarious, involves experiencing life through stories you are told. Does this vicarious living include TV, gossip, following celebrities lifes, non-stop looking at social networks and virtual reality? Yes!

If you are doing this, you are wasting your life on trivialities, or perhaps more contemporary, on virtualities. Vicarious living gets us nowhere. It’s easy to talk about the latest celebrities’ gossip, the latest disasters or successes of society leaders or the hottest information about our neighbors, friends and family. You will feel the emotion of winning or losing with your favorite celebrities, sport clubs, leaders or people you know, but in reality, you are not winning or losing, they are. In a few hours, weeks, or years, you will not have any results in your life. They will.

Vicarious living is the trap of talking about the important things others did or are doing, and the difference they are making, because your life is boring and you feel you are not doing anything important or making a difference. Is this vicarious living really worth it? Most of what we talk about or dedicate our free time to, doesn’t really matter. Just doing the mental exercise of playing forward what you do with your free time, will help you determine its present value. Train your mind to use the 10/10/10 rule: What will you gain in 10 hours/10 months/10 years time, from what you are doing now?

Take the risk of winning or losing,

but living your own life.

Where Do You Live?

Where Do You Live?

You can’t live in your old house, because you moved out of there. You can’t live in the house you will have in the future, because you haven't bought it or rented it yet. But you can enjoy the house you are living in today and you can fix it, make it beautiful and invest in it to increase its value. The house is your life. You can’t live in the past or wait for the future. You must live the present, fix it and invest in it to have a better future.

The investment principle: You use data from the past, to invest in the present and enjoy the earnings of your investment in the future. The investment is your life: Learn from your past life, invest in your present life and enjoy a better life in the future. Your tomorrow depends on your today, not your yesterday. You can’t fix in the past what was broken in the past, but you can fix in the present what is broken in the present, so that it’s not broken in the future.

The opportunities you missed in the past are gone and you can’t yet take advantage of the opportunities that will come to you in the future. However, the present is full of opportunities that you will miss if you are focused on the past or waiting for the future.

Don’t regret your past.

Avoid your future regrets by fixing your present.

Do All “You Can”

Do All “You Can”

Do all you can with what you have. Focus on the things you can do, and just do it. Your mind will distract you with all you can’t do, all you don’t have all your weaknesses and the threats of adversity. However, worrying about something is not a good problem-solving technique. The automatic response of your mindsettind will make you worried and that will slow you down until it stops you completely. So, you need to change the settings of your mind, from controlling everything to doing what you can do now and let go of the rest.

The only way to success is taking the first step. That you can do. Then you will be able to take the next step and that is the only way to reach your destination. If you focus on all the way you have to go and all that can go wrong, you will not move. Change the settings on your mind from negative to positive, from threats to opportunities, from scarcity to abundance and from pessimist to optimist. Think about what you can do, believe you can take the first step,  feel good about it, Dig in your mind for those positive attitudes and “DO IT”

Focus on your goals, and don’t give up, no matter what.

Empower Yourself

Your Mindsettings control how you process information: Your thoughts are the input that will shift your beliefs and emotions and result in the output of how you feel, your attitudes and your actions. Real life will make you repeat this process to create your habits and behavior that will determine what you achieve. You will be Empowered by learning how to reprogram this process.

What Is Your Mindsetting?

What Is Your Mindsetting?

Let’s keep it simple before we dive in: It’s your way of thinking. In a few words, your mental inclination and disposition, or your frame of mind.

Your mindsetting is the established set of attitudes that characterizes you and predetermines the way you think, your opinion, interpretation and response to situations and circumstances. Also, it represents your set of beliefs that shape how you make sense of the world and yourself and that becomes a habit by the repeated pattern of how you think, feel, and behave in different situations.

In other words, your mindsetting is the set of assumptions, methods, or notions held by you or the group of people you identify with, and can also be seen as arising out of individual or collective worldviews or philosophies of life. Finally, a mindsetting may be so firmly established that it creates a powerful incentive within you, to accept your feeling in a certain way and adopt specific behavior choices, representing processes activated in response to a given situation, circumstance or task.

Your Mindsetting Is A Big Deal

Your mindsetting shapes your thoughts and beliefs, shifting the emotional state of how you feel. The energy of your feelings produce the attitudes that influence your behavior and drive your actions, and your repeated actions will create the habits that will determine your achievements. Your mindsetting is like a building, where your habits are the columns that set the strength, solidity and stability of the building where you really live: Your Mind.

What are the settings you can choose for your mind?

You can set your mind to believe in abundance or scarcity, thinking positive or negative, being optimist or pessimist, wanting to grow or stay as you are and seeking opportunities or shielding yourself from threats. Those are the main settings, but you can also set your settings to other very important settings, like being hopeful or hopeless, striving to reach or compete, looking for solutions or who to blame for problems, choosing to advance or retreat, going forward or backwards, to love or to hate, being happy or sad, working for peace or war, displaying forbearance or intemperance, showing kindness or meanness, being on the side of good or evil, being faithful or unfaithful, acting with gentleness or roughness, living with self-control or unruliness.

Do you think you are just the way you are? Of course you are, but the good news is that you can choose the Mindsetting you want to have. You can reprogram your mind for abundance, positiveness, optimism, growth and taking advantage of all the opportunities and blessings this life offers to us all. You just need to believe you can be better at whatever you do, through the right mind programs, leading to the development of new habits. This is called coaching or training. And yes, you can teach an old dog new tricks.

I believe that you can improve your performance if you work at it. What’s the biggest difference between those who succeed and those who don’t? Mindsetting: That is inside your mind and not visible to anyone, but makes a big difference by Empowering and Driving your perception of self-worth, competence and confidence. It's not your abilities, capacities, tenacity or motivation that will make you succeed. Your success depends on how you process the data about the situations and circumstances you face. The real talent is in the process.

Successful people persevere in the face of adversity, instead of giving up.

With these steps you will be able to change your mind settings:

  1. Focus on the whole process of developing yourself and enjoy the trip. If you only focus on the goal you are trying to achieve or the end result you want to reach, you might miss important learnings along the way.

  2. Expect struggles and believe you can overcome any obstacle.

  3. Always think about abundance and growth, with positive and optimistic thoughts, and teach yourself to seek opportunities in any situation or circumstance.

  4. Learn that failure is only data to be processed, to improve yourself.

  5. Embrace challenges.

  6. Don’t you ever try to prove yourself to others. It is not worth it, because it will make you doubt yourself. You don’t need to prove your talent because success is in the process, not in the talent.

  7. Remember all goals must be set to thrive, not to survive.

  8. Read about mind programming and learn about: How does the mind work, Black Swan Events, First Principles, Self-Sabotage, Self-Propaganda, Seneca's Night Routine, Regret Programming, Stoicism and develop your mental skills.

  9. Find a good Mindsetting Coach and get to work on your mind programming.

Origin of Mindsetting concepts.

Some sources say this concept has been around since the 1920’s and Peter Gollwitzer has written about mindsets since the 1980’s. Magoroh Maruyama is famous for his Mindscape Theory, in his 1980 booh. Finally, Carol S. Dweck, Ph.D popularized the mindset when she went mainstream with her book, Mindset: The New Psychology of Success: How We Can Learn to Fulfill Our Potential (2006).

Do You Want To Add or Subtract?

Do You Want To Add or Subtract?

Set positive in your mind to see positive in your life. You need to set a destination to draw a course. You need to know where you are going, to plan your trip. You need to have a  goal to plan your life. You need to think to be able to act. You need to believe in order to achieve. You should believe that today can be better than yesterday and you must plan that tomorrow will be better than today.

When you fill your mind with positive thoughts, your mind will create positive feelings and emotions, that will generate positive attitudes, that in turn will make you take positive actions. Repeating this cycle, you will create your positive habits that will unlock your full potential. In arithmetic, the positive sign is used to add and when you add you will always get a bigger result; and with repeated addition you achieve multiplication.

Remember: Positive creates positive.

This Is About You and Now

This Is About You and Now

If it’s not now… When? If it’s not you… Who? To reach your goal, you need to take the first step and the truth is that you must take it now. Don’t postpone, don’t procrastinate your life away. You may want to do it, you may say you will do it and you may pray for it, but only taking the first step, will open the door for the blessing of your goal to reach your life.

All your personal capacities, abilities and motivation will help, but only your positive attitudes will lead you to action and to take that powerful first step. Your attitudes are the result of your thoughts producing feelings and emotions that create attitudes by repeated experiences. You need to program your mind with positive thoughts, feelings and emotions that will create the new experiences and attitudes you need to succeed.

Shouldn't you start now?

It’s OK To Grow

It’s OK To Grow

Growing means to become greater over a period of time; increasing, developing, multiplying, expanding, extending, raising, cultivating and producing. Outgrowing means to grow out of the things you used to have or do; to lose or leave behind something as you mature and develop due to the passage of time.

Outgrowing yourself means to grow out of thoughts, beliefs, emotions, feelings, attitudes, actions and habits, you used to have, to become a new and better version of yourself. It’s OK to Outgrow yourself. You are allowed to outgrow your old self. Don’t let anyone stop you from changing and becoming your new and better self. Growth is scary for most people. Don’t let them talk you into not growing.

Growth is the right journey for you.

How Difficult Are You To Convince?

How Difficult Are You To Convince?

Success is about influence and the most important person for your success is yourself. Then, by deductive argument: The most important person to influence is yourself. If you want to be successful, before trying to influence others, start by influencing yourself. Influence attempts to change a person's thoughts, beliefs, emotions, attitudes and behaviors. Can you change all that in yourself?

I am talking here about you, influencing yourself to stop sabotaging yourself in the achievement of your personal goal. For this you need to be confident and believe your goal is possible, because you are capable, worthy and you deserve it. Be specific in what you want to achieve and start acting as if you already achieved it. You must think about your goal every day and feel the emotions of having already achieved it.

Emotions are motivators to increase your chances of acting on your goal and for that, only positive emotions should be linked with your goal. You will not master this overnight. Be patient, but persistent, and stop conforming to other people's image of yourself. The paradox is that the more you influence yourself to be yourself, the more you will like yourself too.

Be yourself and achieve your goal.

Can You Change Your Reality?

Can You Change Your Reality?

Two people try skydiving for the first time. When they reach the ground one says that it was the best exhilarating experience and the other says it was the worst horrible experience. The same event but a very different perception. So, is a person's reality whatever he or she thinks it is?

Your perception of reality is the mindset of what you think about people, events, and things. What you think is very important, because you believe what you perceive is accurate, and you create your own reality based on your perception of the world. And, although our perceptions feel very real, that doesn't mean they're necessarily factual.

Your perception is filtered by what you have programmed in your mind by repetition of thoughts, emotions and attitudes. Your mental program produces the mindset of limiting beliefs that filter your perception and creates your perception of reality. Everything begins with your thoughts.

Change your thoughts to change your reality.

Can You Learn To Be Happy?

Can You Learn To Be Happy?

First of all, another question: What does it mean to be happy? The term happiness is used in the context of mental or emotional states, including feeling well, good, positive, optimistic, pleased, proud, pleasant, content, joyful, satisfied, at peace, secure, accepted, free, realized, excited and fulfilled.

Happiness may have many different definitions, but it is always linked to experiencing more positive feelings than negative. Also, happiness is subjective, because it looks different to each one of us. However, regardless of your version of happiness, living a happier, more satisfied life is within your reach and you can learn how to be happy in life.

Happiness is an emotion inside us and under our control, hence, nothing outside of us can make us happy or truly happy. External circumstances or relations can make you happy, for a while, but real, true, long lasting happiness can only be produced inside you.

This is how you produce happiness inside you: Your thoughts create emotions and your emotional reactions to situations and circumstances come from automatic responses programmed in your mind by repetition of thoughts/emotions/actions during your lifetime. That is the paradigm you must change to be happy. Change from negative to positive thinking. Expect the best, not the worst. ReProgram your paradigms by changing your thoughts, believing positive outcomes are possible, visualizing them and persevering to act in positive ways.

Happiness is always available,

inside you.

What News Are You Following?

What News Are You Following?

Emotions make us become more impacted by certain types of information, because our emotional load makes us pay attention to the cause. That is, information relevance to us is correlated to the emotions we are experiencing. That happens to each one of us in our individual world. But, research shows that groups of people sharing the same level of consciousness and emotional response to certain types of information, create a collective response network that actually determines the perception of reality.

The world today has massive amounts of information available almost instantly, and when you get the attention of large groups of people who share the same emotional load on information, you create a collective response network. This determines the perception of reality for each different group. Reality in essence doesn't exist or it is absolutely unimportant, because it doesn't affect the world. Only the mass perception of reality matters.

This is creating the divisionism we experience and the only way to get unity is by creating unity in the emotional loads we carry. This will call for the need to gather around the promotion of a general positive feeling. However, this may be naive, because bad news is better business than good news. But, the game changed and the ease of spreading large amounts of news very fast makes the game a lot more dangerous now, than before.

I can only do my part:

Let's spread love, positivism and hope.

Learn As You Go

Learn As You Go

Learning as you go is the same method you used to learn to walk when you were a baby, or to learn to ride a bicycle, to swim, to drive a car, to cook, to be a spouse, a parent, and many more.

However, formal education is predominantly structured to: Learn first and go later. We tend to lose a lot of time and have a lot of unfinished projects, careers and vocations, because we are afraid to start until we have all of the learnings and facts, since we got used to formal education, plus our fear of failure.

Our heritage from thousands of years is to learn from our environment, and our interaction with the information around us, working in real life. I understand that theoretical teaching has a reason to exist, but... Real life practice will always beat theoretical teaching.

Go and reach your goals…

Learning by doing, as you go!

You Need To Erase Your Past

You Need To Erase Your Past

Your environment is defined as the surroundings or conditions in which you were born, raised and have lived. Your environment may have been and may still be polluted by tons of limiting ideas about all you can't do, all you are not and all you will never achieve. So, you may need to free yourself from your past, to discover your unlimited potential.

You were not created as you are. Your environment made you who you are and if you want a change, I have good news for you. You were created with the power to change and reinvent yourself by searching inside you, who you really are. You are there, deep inside you, buried by tons of limiting ideas.

Learn to reprogram yourself,

with new thoughts, emotions and attitudes.

How Good Are Your Predictions About Your Life?

How Good Are Your Predictions About Your Life?

A self-fulfilling prophecy is the phenomenon of "predicting" or expecting something, and because you believe this "prediction" will come true, your behaviors align with the prediction making it true in your life.

For instance, you might predict that your work or business will turn out exceedingly well, and feel confident about it. Then, your hard work pays off and your results are great. Alternatively, you might expect that things will go terribly, and thus your results are well below expectations.

Although you could conclude that you know yourself quite well, you should think about the effects your expectations have on your behavior. Your beliefs and expectations influence your behavior at the subconscious level, enacting what is known as a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Your subconscious mind will carry out your orders.
